We would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for such an enthusiastic participation in Milan-Mela 2010. We consider ourselves privileged to serve this community. The turn-up in this year's summer cultural event Milan-Mela was a record breaker! No one has seen such a huge crowd in the previous summer events of Milonee in recent past. We have received numerous congratulatory emails and verbal praises which indicate that all our efforts were very warmly received by the invitees. Special thanks must go to those who stepped forward and helped us make the Milan-Mela evening a sweeping success! Manajit Sengupta (food), Raghu Bhattacharya (banner), Nilanjana Sengupta (green room), Suman Haldar (stage setup), Koushik Mahakal (stage setup), Chhandak Basu (back stage), Sumit Nandy (video recording), Abhijit Sur (stage lighting), Abhijit Dutta (video recording), Kaushik Pan (still photo), Surupa Sengupta (back stage), Indrani Roy (MC), Sandip Kulkarni (sound) and Justin (sound) - we couldn't have done it without you guys! We apologize if we are forgetting to mention any other volunteer's name. Lastly, we would like to share some excerpts from the email that we received from the Bangladeshi Association of Colorado (BAC) committee about the events of that evening. Here it is:
".....Our warmhearted appreciation and thanks to all organizers of Milonee for inviting Bangladeshi community as a whole, as well as assigning a large slot to Bangladesh Association of Colorado to perform in this grand MILANMELA event. All Bangladeshis participated in this event expressed sky-scraping remark on the quality of performance and the kindhearted generosity bestowed to us by Milonee officials.
We congratulate you all for presenting such a brilliant Milanmela. It was a huge success in all respect starting from food to performance to guest service.....".
We hope you all enjoyed the evening and will remember this one as a memorable event in the history of Milonee when we successfully brought together the two immigrant Bengali communities of Colorado. However, it will be remiss of us to not mention that the event went over time and as executive committee members we take full responsibility and apologize to all who have been inconvenienced. At the same time we also salute your enthusiasm and for staying around till the last performance was over - it really meant a lot to us and the performers
